Mumbai Oncocare Centre has decided to respond to the ongoing crisis arising due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. We at MOC have realized that many of our patients are not able to reach their respective cancer specialist at MOC in person for appointments and consultation at our daycare centers due to the nationwide lockdown imposed by government of India which has practically shut down everything including public transport facilities. There lies a certain amount of uncertainty with regards to the lockdown and cancer treatment can not wait. Though patients are allowed to travel for medical treatment or emergencies during lockdown, frequently moving out for traveling for consultation to MOC centers can increase the risk of corona infection to patients. We wish to reduce their visits to center, especially for non-intervention purposes so that the risk of developing COVID-19 infection is minimized.
While we continue to offer and administer cancer treatments to them at our daycare centers, it is our attempt to reduce their visits for MOC centers for general / followup consultation in which important tasks like reporting cancer or post cancer treatment symptoms / toxicities, showing reports to doctor, planning next chemotherapy cycle or other cancer treatments / prescription renewal, asking for emergency medicines etc. can be done.
We have started digital consultations using our digital platform 'Doctor On Screen" for the convenience of our patients. Patients can use this facility by Mumbai Oncocare Centre to their convenience. Please follow the process as follows for availing it. Doctor On Screen is available at all our centers i.e. Borivali, Malad, Mira Road, Vile Parle, Sion, Ghatkopar, Thane in Mumbai as well as Nasik city, at our newly added cancer daycare center.
Needless to mention that for physical examination, diagnosis of cancer, doing tests, chemotherapy and other cancer treatments, patients can come to the center anytime with appointment. MOC remains functional for all these services.
