Causes

Diagnosis
Doctors start with a physical examination of the neck. Imaging tests like ultrasound help in identifying any nodules in your thyroid gland. Blood tests are also done to check thyroid function. If a suspicious nodule is found, a fine-needle biopsy is performed to determine whether it's cancerous.

Treatment
Treatment depends on the type and stage of cancer. Surgery is commonly done to remove part or all of the thyroid gland.
